Technique
The work was made on silver halide materials. Digital imaging was either a flat bed scan from the finished 8x10 print or from a Kodak Photo CD Master scan.

Técnica
Estas imágenes de 8x10 fueron impresas usando haluro de plata. Después fueron digitalizadas con un escáner de cama plana o con un escáner Kodak Photo CD Master.

The work presented is from Kenya - How is your condition? and was shot in two trips in 1985 and 1997.

Kenya is a country of generous and friendly people. They have plenty of resources but unfortunately suffer under a corrupt government. The current President will retire from office in 2001 and right now there is lots of shuffling to see who will be the next leader. Talk of an insurrection is mentioned in several newsgroups.

There is a sadness, an ennui and a lack of hope for many Kenyans. Its not from the rough life many endure but rather the sense of having no power or say. There is little doubt there will be civil disturbance and possibly war in the near future.

Las imágenes presentadas aquí son de una serie titulada "Kenya - ¿Cuáles son tus condiciones?" y fueron tomadas en dos viajes que hice en 1985 y 1997.

El pueblo de Kenya es generoso y simpático. Tiene muchos recursos, pero desgraciadamente sufre bajo un gobierno corrupto. El presidente actual renunciará en 2001 y ahora hay mucha espectativao para ver quien va a ser el próximo presidente. Muchos corresponsales de prensa hablan de insurrección.

Hay tristeza, aburrimiento y una falta de esperanza para muchos en Kenya. Para el pueblo no es tan difícil aguantar las difíciles condiciones de vida, como el hecho de que no tiene poder ni voz. No cabe la menor duda de que en el futuro próximo habrán disturbios civiles y tal vez guerra.
