ALVARO'S
wholeness made him a great father. His five children wound up adapting to
Castile, Spain, where they arrived in 1990. For a crafstman like him, who
makes handmade backpacks and bags, the Madrid "Rastro" and the Majadahonda
fair are a bigger market than all of Argentina. His attempts to return to
Argentina failed. When his kids were strolling through Quilmes [in the suburbs
of Buenos Aires], where they used to live, they were held up and their sneakers
stolen. Alvaro felt that he and his country had changed too much, in different
directions. |
