Women from Clay - Marcela Taboada

After photographing the house-building process for nine months, I felt the need of showing who these women really were. I started to document the day-to-day life of the families of the women builders.

Daisy is Mago's 9-year old granddaughter. Mago's house was the third to be built. She now enjoys her new home, although it still has no windows or doors.

I took this photograph in the house of Mago's parents when Daisy came back from school and started playing with the mosquito net. It is important to have mosquito nets on the beds during the night to avoid being bitten by insects, such as scorpions.
