Women from Clay - Marcela Taboada

This strong image was taken as a an experiment. This is Carmela's daughter. One of her eyes is brown and the other is green. The hand belongs to the architect Juan José Santibañez, who introduced me to the women. He plays an important role in their lives: he helped them design the houses and encouraged them to make adobe bricks and use local materials.

He told me: "See how different her face looks with the different color of her eyes."
