It was in this way that what would later (today) become the body of my current work started to take shape, a work which has only just begun, because I now have a 5 year project to visit different places on the immigration route and take photos, make videos. Then I will take stock as it is likely that every place will make me work in a different way. I also have the dream that with these large format photos (they were usually 1,50 x 0.75cm) I will intervene in different urban spaces so that the gaze of the spectator will not be just the gaze of those who frequent galleries and/or art, but that of the anonymous passer-by, or that of the visitor, so that every place that is generally unknown to the majority of people from Buenos Aires should be seen for a second and that it should provoke a little, just a little sense of anguish.

The photos are black and white and most of them are taken with my digital camera. I make an edition of 1/5. I then mount the photos on 1mm thick steel plates with a 5cm margin. This mounting has to do with the idea that a solid, indestructible material was needed, that would almost transform the photo into …a monument and a homage to those who raised a country from nothing.

Así fue apareciendo lo que después (hoy) es el cuerpo de mi obra actual, recién comenzada, porque hoy sí tengo un proyecto a 5 años, visitar distintos lugares de la corriente inmigratoria y hacer fotos, video y luego veré, seguramente cada sitio me hará trabajar de manera diferente. Tengo además el sueño de que con esas fotos de gran formato (habitualmente eran de 1,50 x 0,75 cm.) intervendré en diferentes espacios urbanos para que la mirada del espectador no sea sólo la del que frecuenta galerías y/o Arte, sino la del transeunte anónimo, la del visitante y para que cada lugar en general desconocido para la mayoría de los porteños sea visto por un segundo y le provoque un poco, poquísima zozobra.

Las fotos son blanco/negro y la mayoría tomadas con mi camara digital. Hago una edición de 1/5. Las fotos las monto posteriormente sobre chapas de acero de 1mm de espesor y de estas se ven 5 cm de cada lado. Este montaje tiene que ver con la idea de que necesitaba un material sólido, indestructible, que transformara la foto en casi... un monumento y un homenaje a los que levantaron un país de la nada.
